GuideTech’s New Corporate Direction and Expansion Results in Steady Growth and Prosperity

Orders Confirm Company's Market Leadership for Advanced Timing Test Systems

Sunnyvale, Calif., 06/07/2004 – GuideTech, the leading innovator of precision timing and jitter analysis solutions, secured a new company record order for 20 Femto 2000™ Continuous Timing Interval Analyzers (CTIA) for the Taiwan and Mainland China test, assembly and packaging (TAP) market in Q1 2004. Hauman Technologies, Inc., a Taiwan-based semiconductor manufacturing equipment sales and service leader, purchased 20 of GuideTech’s flagship Femto 2000 systems for an industry-leading customer base, including companies such as ASE, SPIL, Novatek and GAPT. The Femto 2000 improves semiconductor test and measurement equipment reliability, and dramatically improves measurement speed and throughput in both digital and mixed-signal test systems.

The record order maintains GuideTech’s steady growth in recent years, coinciding with the company’s move to a larger facility earlier this year. In addition, GuideTech also recently revamped its executive and technical teams to include personnel with extensive experience in the semiconductor and automated test equipment (ATE) industries, as well as streamlined its core mission, vision and values to meet growing demand from customers and a recovering semiconductor industry.

"Over the past four years, our customers have selected GuideTech for its leadership in providing the only feasible solution available for measuring high-speed PLLs and differential non-deterministic signals with high throughput in manufacturing test,” commented David Peng, Hauman’s chairman and CEO. “Because of GuideTech’s proven market share and their strong record of support and service throughout Asia, we continue to offer GuideTech solutions as part of Hauman’s commitment to providing superb support to the semiconductor test industry we serve.”

"This record order reaffirms the need for the Femto 2000’'s advanced timing test capabilities to meet growing analog and asynchronous test requirements as today’s cost-sensitive devices incorporate more high-speed I/O signaling,” said Tammy McClure, GuideTech’s vice president of marketing. “In addition to solving tough timing test challenges, GuideTech’s integrated precision timing solutions decrease overall manufacturing cost and extend the working life of most automated test equipment.”

The Femto 2000 system delivers direct edge-timing measurements that are more precise and higher throughput when compared with either loopback or slow digital bit-error-rate tester (BERT) search techniques. The Femto 2000 is targeted for critical timing applications such as DVD laser drivers, DVI, CDMA, video graphic processors, spread spectrum clocks and phase lock loops (PLL). The system is ideal for upgrading test performance and enabling non-deterministic measurement capability on any existing ATE system, such as the Agilent 93000, Teradyne J750 and FLEX, Credence Quartet, SC312 or NPTest EXA Series.

About GuideTech
GuideTech is the leading innovator in high-performance timing measurement instruments, providing semiconductor manufacturers with the solution they need to minimize timing-related component failure and to dramatically reduce production test costs through test-time reduction and extended ATE lifecycles. Based on patented Continuous Time Interval Analyzer (CTIA) technology, the company’s Femto family of multi-channel timing test systems accomplishes this by substantially improving test throughput via fast measurement rates, far greater accuracy, increased parallelism, and through critical, high-speed timing test coverage lacking in ATE systems. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA, and founded in 1988, the company is the first to deliver cost-effective, advanced timing measurement solutions that easily integrate onto any ATE platform.
