GuideTech launches AMX 270
32-channel ATE Timing Test Solution
SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 17,
2001 – GuideTech,
the leading innovator in high-performance time interval
analyzer (TIA) instruments, today announced the AMX
270, a 32-channel, 2.7GHz bandwidth active front-end
multiplexer, for use with the GuideTech Femto family
of precision timing test systems. The new AMX 270
quadruples the available channel count of the Femto
systems and provides total flexibility to measure
both single-ended and differential signals on every
measurement channel to address the new wave of high-speed
differential signaling increasingly popular in serial
I/O, Gigabit Ethernet, SONET and high-speed clock
devices.
"GuideTech’s 8-channel precision timing
test Femto systems have already proven superiority
over other available time measurement instruments,
particularly in production ATE applications, offering
higher test throughput and the ability to make true
differential measurements,” said Tammy Pelissier,
Director of Marketing at GuideTech, “The new
AMX 270 provides even higher channel count and enables
both single-ended and differential measurements programmable
at run-time on every channel – a powerful and
unique feature that is critical for optimizing ATE
configurations for multiple device applications.
This capability allows the user to measure and test
intra-pair skew, rise and fall time on differential
channels and other unique capabilities not available
on many ATE platforms to date.”
This latest addition to GuideTech’s growing
list of innovative production test solutions confirms
that GuideTech is following through with its promise
to provide high-performance and costeffective timing
test solutions, preferred by customers, and keeping
them ahead of the technology wave. (more) GuideTech

Page 2 About the AMX 270 The AMX 270 boasts 32 channels
that are program switchable between differential
and singleended measurements at run-time. With fast
ECL multiplexing and programmable SE/DF switching “on-the-fly”,
the AMX 270, combined with an 8-channel GuideTech
Femto system, enables skew on 32 channels, cycle-to-cycle
jitter and risetime, intra-channel skew and voh/vol
on differential signals. Demonstrations of the new
AMX 270 will be given at SEMICON West July 18-20
in booth # 12152 San Jose Convention Center, McEnrey
Hall. Visit www.semi.org for SEMICON show details.

About GuideTech
GuideTech, the leading innovator in high-performance
timing measurement instruments, provides semiconductor
manufacturers with the solution they need to minimize
timing-related component failure and to economize
testing in production. Based on patented Time Interval
Analyzer (TIA) technology, the company’s Femto
family of multi-channel timing test systems accomplishes
this by dramatically improving test throughput via
fast measurement rates and increased parallelism,
adding critical, high-speed timing test capabilities
to ATE systems. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA, and
founded in 1988, the company is the first to deliver
costeffective, high-end timing measurement solutions
that easily integrate onto any ATE platform. For
