Siliconware and GuideTech Join Forces to Provide Cost- Effective Timing Test Solution for High-Volume Semiconductor Production
GuideTech’s
Femto System Selected for Multi-Channel High-Speed
Video Graphics Testing
SUNNYVALE, Calif., December 19, 2000—GuideTech,
a leading innovator in the precision time measurement
instruments market, today announced a multiple system
order for GuideTech’s Femto 2000 from Siliconware
Precision Industries Ltd. of Taiwan (NASDAQ:SPIL),
a primary subcontractor for the world’s leading
fabless companies. The systems will be integrated
into the Agilent (NASDAQ: A) 93000 SOC test system
to support fast-growing graphics accelerator semiconductor
manufacturers. Siliconware customers in high-performance
graphics and communication devices are facing the
accelerating requirement for cost-effective, high-speed
timing tests in highvolume production. GuideTech’s
Femto 2000 systems address these requirements with
accurate timing measurements on small amplitude differential
signals and simultaneous measurements on multiple
signals in parallel. Eight independent measurement
channels capable of directly measuring small amplitude
differential signals make the Femto 2000 systems
the ideal production test solution for high-performance
graphics and communication devices. The systems deliver
precision high-speed timing measurements to multiple
device channels in milliseconds and in parallel.
"In 1998, GuideTech foresaw this trend in
semiconductor testing and identified the critical
need for cost-effective, high-speed timing test coverage,
which is lacking in ATE systems,” said Dr.
Arnon Gat, CEO, GuideTech. “The selection of
Femto systems by Siliconware confirms this emerging
trend. Relationships with companies of this caliber
demonstrate the leading position that GuideTech has
taken in the semiconductor testing equipment market.”
"As a broad-based assembly & test company
striving to supply top notch services and support
to many leading-edge semiconductor manufacturers,
it is essential that we seek out best-in-class solution
providers,” said Mr. T.F. Lee, Vice President,
Siliconware. “ We are confident that the best
precision timing test solution was provided to our
high-end graphics customers by GuideTech’s
Femto 2000.”

About the Femto Product Family
Based on leading edge Time Interval Analyzer (TIA)
technology, GuideTech’s Femto family of products
is capable of measuring jitter, frequency and rise
times, within milliseconds, at very high frequencies.
These fast, accurate timing measurements, combined
with high measurement acquisition rate, eight parallel
measurement channels and the capability to directly
measure differential signals, make the Femto an optimal
production test solution for PLLs, clock buffers
and high speed serial data and communications devices.
